Changes to traffic management layout on Bridge Road

Bridge Road

Posted on: 17 August 2017

Traffic management arrangements on Bridge Road will be changed tonight (Thursday 17 August).

Motorists heading outbound from Countess Wear Roundabout towards Matford Roundabout will be able to travel over the Swing Bridge again from around 8pm. There will be no need to close the road while changes are made.

The new traffic layout will enable room for site staff to work safely on the central island. This will involve the installation of kerbs, tactile paving, lighting columns, signs and safety barriers, as well as surfacing of the footpath.

Drivers are asked to approach the new layout with caution and follow all signage.

Work is also due to be undertaken at the pedestrian/cycle crossing north of Glasshouse Lane to build the reinforced concrete foundation for an overhead traffic signal mast.

No overnight closures are expected next week.

Further updates will be issued via the Bridge Road Widening Scheme website where you can sign up for alerts.
