Devon County Council will be represented at a prestigious award ceremony that will recognise the best in Human Resources (HR).
Devon County Council’s approach to health and wellbeing support for employees during the last year has been shortlisted for the Health and Wellbeing Award – Public Sector at the Personnel Today Awards 2021.
Devon County Council has been recognised as an award finalist due to their approach to health and wellbeing support for employees during the coronavirus pandemic.
This has included recognition of the impact that working remotely from home has had on many members of its staff, and the challenges, especially during successive lockdowns, for workers with young families. At the beginning of the pandemic, the council introduced a system to allow more flexible working hours and set up in-house coaching support for its employees. Staff have also been encouraged to engage with courses that support their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Councillor Andrew Saywell, Devon County Council Cabinet Member for Organisational Development, Workforce & Digital Transformation said:
‘’We are delighted that our commitment and approach to supporting staff health and wellbeing has been recognised on a national scale. We are now looking forward to continuing to expand our health and wellbeing offer. To have been recognised in this way, during such a difficult year is a great honour.’’
This year’s awards will recognise challenges for HR throughout the COVID-19 and how teams have showed creativity, innovation, and resilience in supporting employees.
Devon County Council will find out if they have won at the awards ceremony in London which takes place in November.Posted in:
