Essential drainage improvements are due to be carried out on the B3184 Marwood Lane, near Aylesbeare, next week.

The road, near Exeter Airport, is scheduled to be closed from Monday 30 October as it will need to be excavated in several areas, which will make it impassable. The closure is expected to last for up to five days and a signed diversion will be in place.

Councillor Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council Cabinet Member for Highway Management, said: “It’s vital that we carry out this drainage work in order to keep the roads safe for road users, especially as winter approaches. We appreciate that road closures cause inconvenience for motorists but every effort is being made to keep disruption to a minimum. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey while this work is carried out.”
