Emergency lane closures on A380 near Kingsteignton

A380 safety barrier damage

Posted on: 3 January 2019

Emergency lane closures will be introduced on a section of the A380, near Kingsteignton, for safety reasons following a traffic collision.

Around 100 metres of the central safety barrier on the A380, from Eagle Farm to Ideford Dip, was damaged in a collision involving an HGV earlier today (Thursday 3 January).

Due to safety issues, Devon County Council will be implementing lane closures on both the northbound and southbound outside lanes this evening after the peak travel time.

Repair work will start tomorrow morning (Friday 4 January) and continue throughout the day, and commuters are being warned to expect major delays at peak times. Lane closures will stay in place until it is safe to re-open both lanes.

It is expected that work will continue on Saturday morning (5 January) but is hoped that the lane closures will be removed by the end of Saturday.
