New building for Oasis Day Nursery, Exeter
Posted on: 19 September 2017
A new building has been delivered and installed at the Oasis Day Nursery at Whipton Barton Federation schools in Exeter.
The modular buildings were built off site in Wales and were lifted into place on a huge crane.
Level 3 carpentry students from Exeter College visited the nursery on the same day in order to get some first-hand experience of a building site.
The students will be returning later in the year as they are involved in the next phase of the building project as the college and school continue working together to refit the existing nursery building. The students will get the chance to learn new skills whilst working on site knowing that their hard work will benefit the youngest children in the community.
Head of School, Gemma Wills, said:
“This is an exciting project and we are delighted to be collaborating with the college by giving their students real opportunities to develop their building skills.
“This will not only benefit them in their future careers, but it will also benefit our nursery children who will begin their own learning journey in a bright and fresh new nursery space.“
Oasis Day Nursery for 2, 3 and 4 year olds is open from 7.45am until 6pm every day with a variety of session times available. There are no registration fees and term time only spaces are available with no retainer fees in the holidays.Posted in: Education
