A new headteacher has been appointed for Pilton Community College.

Graham Hill is currently deputy headteacher of Ilfracombe Academy.

He will take over from Louise Miller-Marshall who is leaving Pilton at Easter after eight years of dedicated service to the school.

Mr Hill takes up his new role in September and current vice principal Danny Heaton will be acting head for the summer term.

The chair of Pilton’s local governing body, Mark Cartmell, and the chief executive of the academy trust Ventrus, Gary Chown, said Mr Hill was the unanimous choice of the appointments panel.

They said: “Graham is extremely well respected by pupils, parents and staff at Ilfracombe Academy.

“He has been a central driver in Ilfracombe’s school improvement journey.
