New one-off newspaper, “Devon Together”, to be delivered to households across Devon this week
Posted on: 14 July 2020
More than 300,000 households in Devon will receive a free newspaper delivered to their door this week, designed as a guide to services and next steps in the continuing efforts against COVID-19.
The newspaper, produced by the Archant newspaper group, is written and paid for by Devon County Council, NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, and the Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office.
Its door to door delivery is to ensure that residents, particularly in rural or isolated communities, who might not otherwise access their news or information digitally, are kept up to date with coronavirus-related information.
It includes vital news about Devon’s Local Outbreak Management Plan, and the new measures to contain and reduce cases of coronavirus in the county and safeguard the health of local people.
“It is essential that we have good communication and for us all to work together to beat coronavirus,” said the Leader of Devon County Council, Cllr John Hart.
“We and our Team Devon partners in public health, the NHS, our District Councils and other public and emergency services, are doing everything we can to communicate effectively to our residents.
“One of our many communication channels is with this newspaper, which is aimed at reaching residents who are less likely to be accessing their information online.
“It will also be available in some supermarkets and other publicly-accessible settings.”Community | DCC Homepage
