A section of the A30, that runs through Yarcombe, will be closed for resurfacing over 12 nights, beginning in the first week of July.

There will be two-way stop and go traffic management in place between Monday 29 June and Tuesday 30 June 2020, for minor drainage maintenance. The road will then be closed overnight, from 7pm until 7am, starting Monday 6 July until Tuesday 21 July 2020. There will be no works during the day, and they will be carried out on weeknights only.

The work will be completed in two phases. Phase one will involve closing the A30, east of the village, between Yarcombe and Crawley. When traveling towards Honiton and Exeter, there will be a signed diversion in place via the A358 towards Hornton Cross, followed by the A303 towards Exeter, where you will return onto the A30. The diversion will be the same in the opposite direction.

During phase two of the work, the A30 will be closed west of the village, between Yarcombe and the intersection with the A303. The diversion will remain the same as phase one.

The signed diversion is only a recommended route, using roads of the same classification to the road that is temporarily closed, so that all vehicles can use the diversion route safely. Motorists with good local knowledge may use alternative routes.

During working hours, access to properties and businesses within the site area may be granted if there is no other route, although they may be asked to wait a short time until it is safe to pass.

Access for emergency vehicles will always be maintained.
