The A382 in Bovey Tracey will be closed overnight from Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 February for resurfacing work. There will be no daytime working or weekend working from 7am Saturday.

The scheme will cover around 500 metres of Newton Road, adjacent to Heathfield Industrial estate, with the middle of the road closure being outside the BP garage forecourt.

The road will be closed in one-direction while preparatory work takes place over two nights (from 7pm until 7am) on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 February. This will enable traffic from the A38 to travel to Bovey Tracey as normal, however traffic heading from Bovey Tracey to A38 will need to use the diversion route (detailed below).

The road will then be completely closed over two nights (from 7pm until 7am) on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 February  – reopening by 7am Saturday 22 February.

The signed diversion in place during the overnight closures will be via Newton Road, Old Newton Road and Battle Road and the same in the opposite direction.

Car owners are asked not to park their vehicles on the road during these closures. Access to resident’s properties within the site area during the working hours may be granted in exceptional circumstances after liaison with the onsite foreman. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The scheme, which includes drainage improvements and pavement repairs as well as resurfacing, is dependent on weather conditions which may impact on the duration of the scheme.  Every effort will be made to minimise disruption.
