Further overnight closures are due to be carried out on a section of the North Devon Link Road near Tiverton during November as part of a major ongoing maintenance scheme.

The westbound off slip from the A361 to Sampford Peverell and Tiverton Parkway will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am, both this evening (Thursday 1 November) and also tomorrow night (Friday 2 November).

On Saturday (3 November), the westbound off slip from the A361 to Sampford Peverell will be closed for several hours from 8pm. The eastbound carriageway will then be closed for the remainder of the night, with a diversion in place and re-opening at 7am the following day.

On Sunday (4 November) the eastbound carriageway will be closed from 7pm from Gornhay to Junction 27 of the M5 and a diversion route will be in place. It will again re-open by 7am the following day.

The closures are to enable traffic management arrangements to change as work on the westbound outside lane comes to an end for this phase of the scheme and the contraflow and crossover at Junction 27 are removed.

From Monday (5 November), both westbound lanes will be open and the eastbound outside lane from Uplowman Bridge to Junction 27 of the M5 will be closed 24 hours a day.

Both eastbound lanes are scheduled to be closed overnight between 7pm and 7am from Monday 19 November to Sunday 25 November.

Contractor Mildren Construction is carrying out the upgrade of the road surface and drainage on 6.5km of the road on behalf of Devon County Council.

More information and details of diversion routes are available here and to sign up for alerts for this scheme please go to a361.today.

Exactly the same problem 14-11-18 at around 5;30pm. We were travelling back from the RD&E Oncology centre on the M5 with a very unwell cancer patient. Terrible trip which took 3hrs to complete, usually a 1.5hr maximum trip.
    No news updates either.

Please can someone explain to me why the North Devon Link Road was closed last night (12th November 2108) There was no warning or indication that any work was being was being done, until I arrived at the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway around between Jcn27 to find a ‘Road Ahead Closed’ sign across the exit road to the single lane part of the 361 to Barnstaple. The diversion I had to use took me across to Crediton and the A377 – bearing in mind that I was travelling from Exeter to Barnstaple, had there been some warning on joining the Motorway in Exeter that the North Devon link road was closed, I could had used the A377 all the way from Exeter to Barnstaple, without the need for a massive cross country detour. It’s interesting to note that on the M5 going North there were warning signs advising that Jcn20 at Bristol was closed – these were at Cullumpton, yet no mention was made of the closures on the 361. Neither do the overnight closure dates above cover the 12th of November. Not so much a case of traffic Management – more like MIS MANAGEMENT, this turned, what was a 1.5hr trip home into a 2.5 hr trip home along incredibly poor roads
