Overnight road closures will be needed on the A39 near Abbotsham next month (October).

Resurfacing work on a 1.2km section of the road between Fairy Cross and Knotty Corner will start on Monday 1 October.

The scheme is expected to take around three weeks to complete, and the road will be closed from 7pm to 7am each evening in order to minimise disruption. The road will be open during the daytime.

Temporary traffic lights have been in place on the route over the past couple of weeks to enable drainage improvements and kerb replacement work to be carried out before resurfacing starts.

During the overnight closures in October, the diversion route will be signed via the A39, Bideford, A386, Landcross, Stibb Cross, Holsworthy, A3072, Stratton, A39 and vice versa.
