Posted on: 24 September 2018
Essential repairs to Rumsam Bridge near Barnstaple will be carried out over four evenings next week.
Work is needed to replace the east and west expansion joints on the structure, which carries the A361 over the River Taw. The repairs will be carried out overnight to minimise disruption.
The road will be closed from 7pm on Monday (1 October) and will re-open by 6am the following morning. During the overnight closure a signed diversion will be in place via Eastern Avenue, Victoria Road, Barbean Road, A3125 Barnstaple, Long Bridge, A3125, and A361.
Temporary two-way traffic signals will then be in place during the evenings from Tuesday (2 October) until Thursday (4 October) but will not be in operation during the daytime.
A 40mph speed restriction from the Bishops Tawton Roundabout to Lake Roundabout will be in place 24 hours a day from Tuesday (2 October) until Thursday (4 October).
The Rumsam layby will also be closed 24 hours a day from this Friday (28 September) until Thursday (4 October).Posted in: DCC Homepage | Environment
