Repairs will be undertaken on a number of roads on Dartmoor in September and October.

The B3357 from Two Bridges to Dartmeet will be closed from Monday 2 September until Friday 6 September while resurfacing is carried out.

The road will then be closed from Poundsgate to Dartmeet from Wednesday 11 September to Wednesday 25 September for resurfacing and replacement of cattle grids.

The diversion route will be signed via Two Bridges, Moretonhampstead, Bovey Tracey, Ashburton and vice versa.

From Monday 30 September to Friday 11 October, resurfacing work will be carried out on the B3212, which will be closed between Warren House and Challacombe Cross. A signed diversion route will be in place via Moretonhampstead, Whiddon Down, A30, Tavistock and Two Bridges.

The B3387 at Hemsworthy Gate will also be closed on Monday 7 October to Wednesday 9 October while cattle grids are replaced. The diversion route for this closure will be via Bovey Tracey, A38 and Ashburton vice versa.

All of the work is weather dependent, and any changes to the closure dates will be indicated on temporary signs on site.

September/October is still an important holiday period on Dartmoor. It is crazy to carry out this work before November! Not only are you putting local business livelihoods at risk of financial loss, but employees will be forced to spend even more on fuel to get to their seasonal jobs – if they still have one. The planner of timing this project is completely out of touch with the real world!
