Road conditions improving – but another freeze expected tonight
Posted on: 20 March 2018
Highways teams are making good progress to clear routes across Dartmoor and Exmoor following the snow over the weekend.
It’s an improving situation on roads across Devon – St Marychurch Road also re-opened this morning.
However despite the improving condition of the roads we ask that motorists still avoid Dartmoor and Exmoor to allow the good work to progress.
Gritters will be out this evening to treat routes as more freezing temperatures are forecast with the road temperature on some roads on higher ground expected to drop to -3 .
Please continue to take care when out and about, especially between 9pm this evening and 9am tomorrow morning as there remains a risk of ice on roads and pavements.
