The road at Coryton, near Chillaton in West Devon, has re-opened following the completion of extensive stabilisation work.

The route underwent an emergency closure at the end of last year for safety reasons after concerns were raised over the condition of the retaining wall on the road from Perry Spears to The White House.

Devon County Council has been carrying out improvement work over the past ten weeks.

Photo of the embankment supporting the road A new 50-metre long reinforced earth embankment and edge restraint has been constructed to support the road, with around 2,700 tonnes of material being compacted as part of the scheme.
