Three sections of road in Bideford will be closed over the coming weeks for road surface repairs. They will be completed in three parts.

From Monday 6 July 2020, sections of Bridgeland Street will be closed to traffic during road surface repair works.

Road works will then be in place on the High Street from Monday 13 July 2020. The works will start from the junction that meets The Quay and finish at the junction that meets Mill Street. The work will involve repairing the road surface at the crossing points where the paving has been damaged. This will also involve closing the road to traffic during operation.

All roads will remain open during the mornings and closed from mid-day until 11pm, to allow access for shops and local businesses. Those businesses and shops that are currently open, will remain open while the repair work is going on. Footpaths will also remain open.

During the week beginning Monday 20th July 2020, road surface repairs will be made to the entrance and exit of Manor Car Park, on The Quay. Both the entrance and exit of the car park will be closed for 2 days respectively while the works are underway. The car park will stay open, but there will be reduced capacity for parking.

The work is required to ensure that all road surfaces are maintained to a safe condition.

There will be more repair work, including repairs to the paving along The Quay, planned for the autumn.
