There is an amber weather warning for snow for Sunday and falling temperatures across Devon overnight and into the morning.

Up to 10cm is expected widespread with 25 cm possible on high ground with the wind causing drifting in places.

The Devon highways teams are out gritting and are ready for action again with snow ploughs and blowers.

Snow will particularly affect higher ground and some widespread travel disruption can be expected on Sunday morning.

People are being advised not to travel overnight and to be aware that travel is likely to be difficult tomorrow with a chance of vehicles getting stuck in snow, especially on high ground.

Special care should be taken on country roads, with ice likely to be a problem overnight in addition to any snow.

The Haldon Hill emergency plan will be in operation from 2am and is likely to be in place through to the afternoon.
