Household vans able to use recycling centres this week

Restrictions at Devon’s Recycling Centres are to be eased further this week, with personal vans allowed to bring household waste from Wednesday 24 June. Vans will need to pre-book their visit at three of the county’s busiest sites.

Council issues fresh appeal to recycling centre visitors not to queue on the roads

The phased reopening of Devon’s Household Waste Recycling Centres for essential use only has gone ‘relatively well so far’ says Councillor Andrea Davis, ‘but we are experiencing some problems with traffic queuing back onto the public highway causing a safety issue, which we’re having to address.’

Hundreds offer up no longer used equipment following countywide appeal

Donated equipment, including commodes, walking frames, perching and shower stools, is being collected from households across the county following an appeal by Devon County Council for community equipment which is no longer being used.
