UPDATE: A379 Bitton Park Road, Teignmouth

Road closed sign

Posted on: 22 February 2019

The overnight road closure planned for tonight, Friday (22nd), has been cancelled. The road will remain open tonight.

It was planned to be a later than usual closure from 11pm to reopen at 7am tomorrow. However, our contractors can’t progress with work as much as originally hoped for tonight’s shift, so the level of disruption tonight with a closure would be disproportionate to the amount of work actually achievable in that time. So we’re keeping the road fully open tonight and will plan to catch up with the work later in the programme.

In the meantime, this is where we’re up to with closures planned for the coming days:

• Saturday (23rd Feb): No closure.
• Sunday (24th Feb): No closure.
• Monday (25th Feb): A379 closure as planned (7pm – 7am). Shaldon Bridge closed.
• Tuesday (26th Feb): A379 closure as planned (7pm – 7am). Shaldon Bridge closed.
It is possible the road could be reopened before 7am, but this is at the contractor’s discretion and will be reviewed on a night by night basis based on the progress of work.

Thanks for your patience.
