A South West Water contractor has repaired the storm drain, which means that work to improve the A379 Bitton Park Road, Teignmouth, continues.

As part of the improvements, repairs to the footpath outside Tesco’s Express, and some areas of high friction surfacing, have now also been completed. Resurfacing of the road is continuing today.

Tonight and into next week:

Friday 8 March: Shaldon Bridge junction will remain open. However Bitton Park road will be closed towards the town centre for a final night of road closures, (7pm to no later than 7am Saturday morning).

Week commencing Monday 11 March: There are no road closures planned for week commencing the 11 March.

Week commencing Monday 18 March: There are no road closures planned for week commencing the 18 March.

Over this period the toucan crossing near Tesco Express will be upgraded and line marking finished. These works will be done on the footpath or under minor traffic management with no further road closures required.

With the overnight road closure tonight, a recommended diversion route using roads of equal category will be signed. However, people with good local knowledge may use minor roads to work their way around the closure.

Please allow extra time and plan your journey before you leave.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
