Travelling on winter roads

Posted on:12 December 2019

Despite our efforts, winter weather can still make roads treacherous. With over 90% of all crashes attributed to human error the real key to driving in winter is to drive with due care for the conditions.

Stay safe when travelling on winter roads.

  1. Mrs Jennifer Shelton says:

Around 6pm, travelling north on A382 between Moretonhampstead and Chagford turn (B3206) encountered a very large pothole. Pothole hidden by water. Travelling very slowly as 3 vehicles were parked just after the pothole with hazard lights flashing. A vehicle had obviously lost a wheel. Immediately a warning light appeared on our dashboard to say that we had a tyre problem. Limped home. Tyre flat. Damage uncertain but need to seek professional advice tomorrow. Minimum damage a ruined tyre but potentially much worse damage sustained. Need to log this incident with DCC.
